Profile

I am Vice Provost for Education and Professor of International Affairs in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and the Department of Government in the College of Arts & Sciences at Georgetown University. I am also a core faculty member in Georgetown’s Center for Security Studies. Previously, I was Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs in the Georgetown College of Arts & Sciences and served as chair of the School of Foreign Service faculty.

My research and teaching focus on international security, international relations theory, and U.S. foreign policy. In particular, I study the behavior of great powers—how they interact with each other, how they use military force, and how they formulate their foreign policies.

Here is my curriculum vitae and my Google Scholar profile.
